B(K): There's a reason I stayed away from writing music reviews for a long time. I was afraid they would all read the same; rants that talked about plagiarism, lyric abuse and vocal atrocities. Somehow the combined powers of Majaa & Sivakaasi suckered me into this post. I really hope I only have nice things to say in my next review.
And thanks for the kind words.:)

Manoj,
First of all, why did you even attempt to listen to these albums? Er... on second thoughts i should say i enjoyed reading your comments, though. [LMAO :)] and for this reason alone, please continue writing about garbage like this as long as you dont risk bustin' your ear-drum or blood vessels! :-)

Why is an MD as talented as VS damn adamant on dishing out "Saavu-molam" type ear-busters all the time? Blaming it on the directors or Vijay cannot be the excuse or justification.

"Is it loud & noisy enough to blare from the rooftops come Deepavali? Damn right…shoor hit-u saar."
LOL :)

The nerve of the guy, eh? To copy a copied song (Chennai Chandrama) and then offer explanations for it.

Vijay’s movies and their music are a permanent dampener on any creative efforts in Tamil cinema.

Totally agree!

Thanks for the reco, but I'll pass on the Sabesh-Murali album for fear of bursting a blood vessel or something. Plus, it's a Cheran movie. I don't really think I want to listen to Nyaabagam Varudhe type mushy, musically deficient songs.

I was hoping Godfather would salvage some hope but looks like the movie has been postponed again. Dont listen to any of Srikanth Deva's albums even if it happens to be for a big movie. I saw a Jaya TV programme on him(?!) which showed him recording a kuththu song and remixing a devotional. Even the most optimistic amongst us woulkd have had our confidence dented after watching that. He was patting himself on the back for doing a clean lift of Mahaganapathim in M. Kumaran S/O mahalakshmi, without desecrating the original.

Vidyasagar, these days deceives more than he flatters. Ever since he started doing those big movies for Vikram,Vijay, Rajni etc. his creativity has taken a nosedive. Vijay's movies and their music are a permanent dampener on any creative efforts in Tamil cinema.

While you are at it,check out the other Diwali release, Thavamaai thavamirindhu by Sabesh-Murali. If you listen to it with minimal expectations you wont be disappointed. Nothing very exciting but definitely not an earsore like Sivakaasi.
