Roopa: <em>"...bookmarks for my memory"</em>. I put that (kind of) disclaimer, despite sounding cheesy, only because it's been a long time since I read a good book. I'm not sure if they really "mean" anything to me, but I sure do remember the reaction it evoked in me as a teenager. So maybe if I read 'The Fountainhead' now, I'll share your opinion of Ayn Rand's writing. And I never got to read 'Atlas Shrugged'.

Muthuvel: Good going...let me know how you liked them.

You liked Fountainhead? Really? Ayn Rand I thought was so overrated. Atlas Shrugged was atleast more readable!

But then, passionate readers probably don't really need to be motivated. I spend hours (downloading) listening to music and trying to appreciate the nuances. Probably even you. And we don't need to be motivated for that. I guess it just boils down to what your real interests are. Having said all that, I still think not reading is an unpardonable offence. My reading has become so irregular that I can feel myself turning dumber. And of course, the writing suffers too. :)

In this age of fast food and internet and amidst hectic schedules, I admire all those ppl who still have the patience to read all those 500-odd paged classics. How do you guys get the time and motivation to do something that doesnt provide instant gratification? I lost my book reading habit a long time back. These days I have just about enough patience to sit thru a good movie . But music, any time, anywhere.
