The DJs here are fascinated by the extensive use of moog sounds that the Hindi composers used back in the 70s. You only have to check Ebay to find out how much a 70s Hindi classic goes for these days. The LPs are sold from places like Holland even, and sometimes go upto 50$. Even though there are lot of digital synthesizers and/or software (VST) plugins that can emulate these analog synth sounds, some still insist on sampling from the original LPs. Plus, I think they regard it more of a collection item that we do. So, next time you're in India and happen upon some vintage LPs, grab them without a second thought. You can probably make some serious cash on Ebay. :) Some Useless Trivia: The movie 'Ghost World' opens with the main character dancing to a Mohd.Rafi song.
