Or he recycles some of his own sandhams. I guess in an industry where blatant song lifts have become no-big-deals, lifting sandhams hardly qualifies as an offense. btw, I just added those clips so there could be no confusion, esp. for those who are not too comfortable with mental humming. :)

Hi, you are right about “Manoothu” good observation. Actually you neednt have gone to all the trouble of changing lyrics to point out the similiarity. Just by mental humming, its easy and quick to discover that the words “vaadi en kappa kizhange” bears the same tune/notes as “mankutti vachcha mayile”. Yes, could be a case of inspiration from Ilayaraja, which is a little rare for Rahman. He usually has his sandhams inspired by MSV and old Hindi composers once in a while
